THE STORY BEHIND THE EMMET OTTER
"TRIBUTE" CD
From Matt Surowiec: "I have been a fan of Jim Henson's "Emmet Otter's Jug Band
Christmas" special since it first aired on HBO in 1977. I also had the
original book by Russell and Lillian Hoban, which was read and re-read until
the pages fell out. I was able to purchase another book in 2001, and have
the TV special on VHS and DVD, but what I really wanted was the soundtrack -
but it was never released...
2007 marked the 30th Anniversary of the 'Emmet Otter's Jug Band
Christmas' television special. Since no official soundtrack was ever
released, Tricentennial Music licensed the music and produced a limited edition
'tribute' to the magical show, featuring songs written by Grammy and Academy
Award winning composer Paul Williams and performed by Matt Surowiec and the
Tricentennial Band."
